On 24th April 2019, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg disclosed that the company is soon heading to launch WhatsApp Pay in India. This application will be used to make digital payments.

Whatsapp Pay is a system built that stores payments-related data locally in India. This would be user-friendly especially useful for people's daily lives. It is targeted to extend beyond P2P platform that could be called as the country's biggest digital platform.

The company has set the target to cover the entire country beating the existing players by the year 2023.

Fluttering other Indian digital payment markets like Amazon Pay for Android customers, Google Pay, Paytm, Apple Pay for iPhone users WhatsApp Pay is likely to be a game changer.
