Reliance might be able to win over the e-commerce market from Amazon and Walmart as Reliance retails has an upper-hand on Amazon and Walmart due to FDI restriction of policy e-commerce. Reliance retail has a vast presence in stores and brands in different from clothing to toys, to the grocery. With 10,415 stores in over 6,600 cities, Reliance already has its own inventory storage without exhausting any extra cost for e-commerce chain.

When it comes to capital, Amazon and Walmart both sit on a huge cash capital model to generate revenue, so e-commerce business like Voonik, BabyBerry, Mr Needs, etc. could not compete. However, Reliance has an abundant source of capital to infuse in the business and so it can patiently wait to earn the revenue.

Reliance can try as it has the reserves under RIL to work with in case the situation calls for burning some cash. The crucial part though is building a presence. Amazon did not come in all at once but 1st established Junglee, build a service network which turned into Amazon. It may also be difficult to break any loyal customers of Amazon Prime.
