That is absolutely correct. The holding company of the Tata Group, Tata Sons, has been acquiring some of the beaten down stocks of its group companies from the open market. For example, the holding company has been acquiring shares of Tata Steel and Tata Motors via the DVR route. There could be two reasons for this. Firstly, like any holding company, Tata Sons may be looking to consolidate its holdings at lower prices. This is normal practice. Secondly, it also shows the confidence of the promoters in the companies and when then enter to buy at lower prices, it boosts the confidence of the markets.
