NCLT has reserved its order on SBI plea against Anil Ambani seeking to recover Rs.1200 crore under the personal guarantee clause of the bankruptcy law. The bank had actually approached the tribunal under the IBC for a report on the assets owned by Anil Ambani, who was a personal guarantor for loans given to RCOM and Reliance Infratel.

Reserving the order is not a decision of any kind but just indicates that the court needs to more time before adjudicating on the subject. SBI had approved a resolution plan for RCOM that envisaged lenders recovering around Rs.23,000 crore of their money with a haircut of nearly 50%. The call on persona assets of Anil Ambani will be taken at a later date.
