The JSW Group belong to the Jindals is one of the largest players in the Indian oil and metals space as well as in other commodity related plans. In the light of the recent decision by the government decision to reduce dependence on China, JSW has decided to bring down its China dependency to zero over the next two years.

At present, JSW group imports machinery and machinery parts for its steel, oil and cement business. In most of these cases, China is the one country that is able to supply these parts at the lowest rates. However, due to the unprovoked attacks by China at the LAC, there has been a general clamour across India to boycott Chinese products in totality.

Despite the short term hardships that it could cause, the Indian industry has been largely supportive of this move. JSW has a Plan-B in place. It will focus on strengthening the supply chains within India to make up for the shortfall caused by the boycott. It will extend its supply chain to include other countries as well as build India’s own local strength.
