India is expected to cross China in the next few days in terms of number of active cases. On Thursday, the Indian Railways suspended all passenger trains, barring Shramik Special services and cancelled all tickets booked to travel on or before June 30. Railways services are down since March 22. Passengers had bought 45,000 tickets on Monday when the Indian Railways started accepting bookings for the special trains. However, it looks like the Railways have been advised against getting too aggressive with travel as it could lead to a sudden spike in COVID-19 cases and the healthcare infrastructure in India is just not prepared for that.
