Department of Posts has signed a deal with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to transform it into a multi-service digital hub. With this collaboration, India Post will aim to modernise the delivery of mail and packages, enhance its customer experience, and also experiment with innovative services that can generate revenues. This deal attempts to transform the Core System Integration (CSI) program designed and implemented by TCS to the vast network of more than 150,000 post offices.

Postal services will have an integrated solution to mail operations, finance and accounting, and HR functions to enable the Department of Post to cater 3 million postal transactions a day. At now this seems to be a big challenge as it is the largest SAP implementations in the world. But, TCS being the Largest Indian IT company, has already implemented Point of Sale (PoS) solution across 24,000 post offices with over 80,000 PoS terminals. So people can expect Postal Services to enhance one level more.
