Brokerage only earns the brokerage which is mentioned in your contract note. The Statutory charges like GST, stamp duty and STT are imposed by either the central or the state government. The broker does not get these payments. The broker just collects these on your behalf and deposits it with the government. For example, the GST goes to the central government, the STT goes to the exchange, the stamp duty goes to the state government, the turnover fee goes to SEBI and the exchange fees go to BSE and to the NSE.
