44 US states filed lawsuits on twenty drugmakers, accusing them of inflating prices of drugs out of them were seven Indian compnaies.
The seven Indian drugmakers are Sun Pharma, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Glenmark Pharma, Lupin Wockhardt, Zydus Pharma and Aurobindo Pharma

Why was the lawsuit filed-
Out of 20, seven Indian pharma companies are categorised under the antitrust lawsuit.
The investigation has been initiated in these pharma companies.
Covering more than 100 drugs, the lawsuit was filed on the respective pharmaceutical firms unlawfully has hiked the prices of medicines. Over 100 medicines showed inflated prices.

Impact of the lawsuit-
Many of the above-mentioned companies have faced a decline in their stocks. After the lawsuit was filed, stocks of Sun Pharma hit as worse as nearly 20%. However, it recovered o a level till the end of the day. The firm is facing SEBI interference over the charges levied on alleged diversion of funds.
Overall Indian market reported a negative sign by 0.99% approx.
