The Nifty was up 2% in the week gone by so obviously, the bias was in favour of the gainers. If you look at the Nifty, 7 out of top-10 most valuable companies added a total of Rs.162,775 crore in market capitalization during the week. Of course, the biggest contributions came from Reliance Industries and NBFC player, Bajaj Finance.

In terms of specific value addition, Reliance added Rs.57,087 crore in market cap while Bajaj Finance gained Rs.47,526 crore after announcing stellar quarterly results. We also saw ICICI Bank adding Rs.21,033 crore, SBI Rs.15,172 crore, HUL Rs.10,761 crore and Infosys adding Rs.8,560 crore in market value in the week. There were a couple of major value losers too. TCS lost Rs.26,411 crore while HDFC saw market cap deplete by 13,917 crore in the week.
