Infosys had recently terminated three of its employees after a detailed investigation. These employees of Infosys had been arrested for allegedly accepting bribes to expedite tax refunds. They were sacked for violating the company’s policies and their services have been effectively terminated. These were three Infosys employees, attached to the Income Tax department's Centralised Processing Centre (CPC) in Bengaluru. They were guilty of allegedly taking bribes from high value taxpayers for speedy processing of their refunds. Apparently, these employees had contacted a few major taxpayers for processing their I-T refund claims at the earliest. The employees had allegedly charged the assessee 4% of the refund amount as his commission. The entire case came to light when one of the taxpayers refused to pay the money and shared the audio recording of the conversations with Income Tax officials. The guilty were nabbed with the help of the Bengaluru police.
