Central Depository Services CDSL introduces e-DIS verification via TPIN for selling stocks in exchange.

What is the change? Till now, selling stocks (not buying stocks) was authorized by the investor himself by entering the PIN or fingerprint on the app. Now, from 25th February 2020, the investor must go authorize the same step via TPIN, which will be directed by CDSL to your registered email/number.

Why is the change?

To secure shares in your Demat account. No more transfer of shares by anyone without your confirmation through authentic security. Many brokers sell investor's shares without clearly informing them. Now your depository will confirm your selling process and not the broker.

CDSL has already messaged and emailed you the PIN. Do not worry if you have missed it.
You can simply generate a new T-PIN by following steps. (for IIFL app)
While placing a sell order ou would require to enter the PIN, click on the ‘Forgot CDSL Pin’ option.
You will receive a message and email for new T-PIN.
Use new T-PIN to authorize your sell transaction.
