For Hindustan Unilever, it is an attempt to attempt the under-penetrated personal hygiene segment in India. From that standpoint, Hindustan Unilever has decided to buy the intimate feminine hygiene brand of V-Wash from Glenmark. Personal care is one of the focus areas of Hindustan Unilever and it sees tremendous potential in that segment. Apart from paying for the deal largely in cash, HUVR will also pay royalty to Glenmark for a period of 3 years. Glenmark will transfer the IPR including trademarks, design and know-how of V-Wash. This is one segment where HUVR is still not too active and sees a big opportunity.
