The next meeting of the Committee of creditors (COC) of Jet Airways is scheduled to be held on March 12. The revised regulatory deadline for submission of bids for Jet Airways ended on 10 March. The committee is yet to confirm whether they have received any bids till date for the airline. In between, a lot of potential investors have evinced interest in the airline but it was hard to take any of them to the logical conclusion. Many people have dropped out during the due diligence process. Also, investors are not too sure about what assets are still with the airline and what assets have been repossessed. That makes the valuation job extremely complicated. It may be recollected that Jet Airways had grounded all its flights in April 2019 after it ran out of cash. It owes more than Rs.8,000 crore to banks and this is not counting the massive amounts owed to operational creditors.
