When you want to make a theft claim, you will need to furnish the following documents:

- A copy of your driving license

- Duly-filled Form 28, 29 and 30 signed by you and your financier

- Original insurance policy document

- Original FIR copy

- Your warranty card, service booklet or keys

- Letter of subrogation; this is basically a legal right held by most insurance companies to legally pursue a third party that’s caused an insurance loss to the insured. This letter helps recover the amount of the claim paid by the insurance company to the insured for the damage caused.

- No-objection certificate (NOC) from the financier

- Your previous insurance policy information

- A copy of a letter that is written to the RTO regarding the theft with a request to make the vehicle ‘non-use’

- A claim discharge voucher with a revenue stamp
