Almost all insurance companies send an intimation along with the discharge voucher to you at least two to three months before the date of maturity.

The intimation will inform you as to how much money you will be receiving from the insurance provider. The discharge voucher as well as the policy bond must be duly signed by the policyholder and returned to the insurance provider as soon as possible as the sooner you do so, the sooner will they be able to release your payment.

In case you have assigned the policy to another individual, only the assignee will be authorised to receive the claim amount at the time of maturity.
