On 10th March Sunday, Chief Election Commissioner, Sunil Arora, announced the 17th Lok Sabha election dates.

The biggest electoral exercise is due to be held between April and May 2019 to constitute the 17th Lok Sabha.
Lok Sabha elections will start on April 11 till May 19. This will be for all seven phases across 543 parliamentary constituencies, followed by counting of votes on May 23. To form a government, out of 543 the majority of seats in Lok Sabha need to be 273 seats.
Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Odisha. These states will have elections in four phases. Besides these, it will be three phases states like Chhattisgarh and Assam two phases for Karnataka, Manipur, Tripura, and Rajasthan. Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal election will have seven phases. Jammu and Kashmir Lok Sabha polls will be held for now.
Over 900 million voters would be eligible for the polls that include 15 million between the ages of 18 and 19 years.
According to market experts, there is more risk of not being in the market. Also, those who have doubts can continue with their SIPs as there is no logic in waiting for the election results. Since May 26, 2014, PM Modi joined office, the stock market index of BSE  Sensex has jumped 11,954.55 points, or 48.36 percent, to 36,671.43 level on Friday from 24,716.88 level ( Source- economic times)
