NPS accounts require minimum contribution of Rs 60,000 every year. In the absence of these contributions, the PFRDA freezes an NPS account.

Thus, until you make the minimum payment for all the years the account has been inactive, you will not be able to reactivate the account.

In order to reactivate the account, an individual must pay the total of minimum contributions for the period the account has remained frozen, the minimum contribution for the year in which the account is reactivated and a penalty of Rs 100.
