For the two wheeler companies like Hero Honda, Bajaj Auto and TVS Motors, a chunk of their incremental demand is coming from the rural hinterland. A good monsoon becomes extremely critical for them. Rural demand tends to be more broad-based and can given them the much-needed growth at a time when urban markets for two-wheelers are saturating. Two wheelers are an important mode of transport in the rural areas and for them it becomes more of a necessity than a choice. Hence the higher purchasing power created by better monsoons becomes an important trigger for this sector.
