In fact, Titan plays the wedding jewellery business through Tanishq’s sub-brand Rivaah. Now Rivaah plans to launch region-specific collections to boost market share in the wedding jewellery market. Rivaah contributes nearly 20% to the revenues of Tanishq. However, there is an anomaly here as in India wedding jewellery accounts for 50% of all jewellery sales. Clearly, there is a huge potential that is left to tap in the wedding jewellery market for Titan.

For Titan, the headroom in the wedding jewellery market is massive. According to Titan’s internal estimates, Rivaah currently targets just about 20%-23% of the wedding jewellery market and if they could even address 50% of the market the upside would be huge. That is the reason, Titan has identified wedding jewellery as one of the big growth areas. The timing is opportune as April and May are considered to be auspicious wedding dates.
