You could soon see tenders for the redevelopment of New Delhi railway station CST Terminus in Mumbai to be issued in the next two weeks. While the New Delhi station redevelopment entails an investment of Rs.5000 crore it will be Rs.1642 crore for CSMT. The tenders will be finalized in less than two months time.

Once this redevelopment is done, these railway stations will have airport-like user charges for passengers and visitors. This will be an additional revenue stream, considering they are two of the busiest stations in India in terms of cargo and passenger movement. 9 companies are already shortlisted to redevelop Amritsar, Gwalior and Nagpur stations on PPP basis.
