The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) approved a $500 million loan to India to tackle the Coronavirus pandemic. The loan is intended to help India's government strengthen its public health system, prepare for future outbreaks, and limit the transmission of cases in the future. AIIB is an Asian bank supported by Beijing. The project will be co-financed by the World Bank and it will also support medical equipment purchases and research. The loan is a part of the $10 billion funding facility the AIIB has announced to help public and private sector entities deal with the pandemic
