India’s first COVID-19 vaccine, COVAXIN which was developed by Bharat Biotech has got approval for human trials. This was developed in collaboration with the ICMR. The Drug Controller of India has given approval to start human trials on this vaccine. The approval was given based on the test results submitted by Bharat Biotech and ICMR.

According to the test outcome, the early trials had exhibited good outcomes and also a boost in immunity of the administered subjects after the dose was given in the form of vaccine. Human clinical trials will start across India from July 2020 and will be administered to different test groups and under different test conditions for better research.
