Avenue Supermarts was listed in mid-2017 and in the last 3 years of the company has emerged as the 11th most valuable company in India in terms of market cap. Avenue Supermarts was promoted by marquee investor, Radhakishan Damani, and owns the highly popular and ubiquitous retail brand, D-Mart. The market cap of the company recently scaled Rs.1.60 trillion and is now more valuable than companies like Nestle, Maruti Suzuki, Asian Paints and HCL Tech. That is not all. In a year when the indices are trading nearly 15% lower, the stock of Avenue Supermarts is up by 33.4% since Jan 2020. D-Mart currently has a presence in over 200 locations via its retail stores.
