That is correct. At around Rs.104,000 crore of market cap, the stock of Adani Green is now more valuable than ONGC, which is valued at around Rs.95,000 crore. This shows the kind of value that the market assigns to green energy as a futuristic source of energy.

The entry of Adani Green Energy into the exclusive club of Indian companies with a market capitalization of over Rs.100.000 crore has been extremely swift. The stock has been a virtual 20-bagger in the last one year from price levels of Rs.33 about one year back.

Interestingly, this trillion dollar valuation makes Adani Green the most valuable company within the Adani group because even Adani Ports has a market valuation of just about Rs.75,000 crore and others like Adani Enterprises and Adani Gas are much lower.

Adani Green has a target solar power capacity of 25 GW, which includes capacity under installation, making it the largest solar capacity in the world. In fact, the capacity of Adani Green is more than the entire solar capacity of the United States.
