Paying mere minimum amount due of your credit card bill isn’t enough. This is because you are not paying your bill completely and letting the amount accumulate into a larger debt.

In order to get interest-free grace period, you must regularly pay your entire bill amount. If you have been paying minimum amounts only, I’d suggest you repay your entire outstanding amount including the principle and interest amounts first.

Once you are done with that, you can slowly start rebuilding your credit history by repaying your entire dues on time. It will take some time, but you can try to improve your credit to a level that the bank will start giving you, too, interest-free grace period.
