Small-cap oriented schemes predominantly invest (at least 65% of the total corpus) in the companies ranked 251st and beyond by market capitalization. SBI Small Cap Fund follows a blend of growth and value style of investing. In addition, it follows a bottom-up investment strategy for stock picking. The fund has consistently outperformed its benchmark its peer average over a long period of time. However, currently, the scheme is accepting investments only through Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) or Systematic Transfer Plan (STP) with maximum amount up to Rs25,000/- per PAN for monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual frequency. Investors who are seeking to invest in a diversified portfolio of small-cap stocks and desire for superior returns, in the long run, can invest in this scheme. Moreover, it is relevant only for investors who have a very high-risk appetite with an investment horizon of at least 7 years.
