You do not have to write to the individual companies at all! That is the beauty of the DP account. You can just write to your DP and the address will automatically get updated with all the companies where you hold shares. It is not like the old physical shares days when you had to write to each company individually. Just one letter is enough. However, your DP will insist on some basic documentation in this case. With these documents properly attested, you will be able to change your name in Demat Account. So, what are the documents required in this case?
You need to submit the following documents.
Change of Name Application From
KYC Form
Copy of New Name Pan Card
Copy of New Name Address Proof
Copy of New Name Bank Details (Cancelled Cheque)
The Depository Participants (DPs) shall collect the self-attested copies of the above documents and maintain the same in their records after verifying with the original document. Remember, as per the new SEBI regulations any such change of details requires you to submit the photocopies but you are required to carry the originals with you. The officer will verify the photocopies with the originals and only then will the application for change of address be accepted.
