Yes, you absolutely can! Use the form featured above to cancel your pending demat request. Quite often, the demat process may take too long for a number of reasons beyond your control. There could be some dispute of distinctive numbers, there could a signature mismatch or there could some bad delivery issues. There may also be some minor difference in the names and the registrar may call for an affidavit that is notarized by the court to prove the same. Alternatively, the registrar may also ask you to file an indemnity bond in such cases.
You can cancel your DRF only assuming that the dematerialization request has not been processed. Not otherwise, after approval. Keep your DRN number and other details handy in case you want to cancel as they are part of this form.
