Day trading is not for professionals who are employed in a full-time job. Remember, day trading takes a lot of time and energy out of you. It also takes a lot of bandwidth in terms of checking alerts, monitoring your positions, acting on the news, tracking charts etc. Traders must be able to monitor the market movements throughout the market session (from the opening bell until its closing) to enable them to make the right calls as required.
Trading cannot really be a part-time activity. It requires your full time devotion and attention. Don’t get into a situation where you are neither able to give full attention to trading nor are you able to do justice to your full time job. There is one more thing. If you are in capital markets there are restrictions on intraday trading for employees. Take your employer into confidence before starting off. In case you are working in a listed company, there are some restrictions on senior officers trading on the stock of the company. Any laxity may get you into unnecessary trouble.
