Maruti reported a fall of just 1.1% selling 1.08 lakh units in July 2020. The sales numbers were nearly 88% higher on a sequential basis. There was a decline in sales across compact cars like WagonR, Swift and Dzire but growth was driven by mini Alto, S-Presso models as well as the utility vehicles like Ertiga, Vitara Brezza, S-Cross etc.

Out of the 1.08 lakh units sold, 1 lakh units were to the domestic market while the balance represented exports. Overall, Maruti sold 97,768 vehicles in passengers segment in the domestic market and 2232 vehicles under the light commercial vehicles of LCG segment. In the utility vehicle segment, Maruti sold 19,177 units in July.
