Ashok Leyland, a major player in the HCV / MCV space and based out of Chennai, reported a 37% fall in total sales at 11,475 units for the month of February. Domestic sales fell sharply by 39 per cent to 10,612 units last month as compared to January. Overall, the total medium and heavy commercial vehicle sales in the domestic market dipped 47 per cent to 6,745 units in the month of February as the weak growth and the impact of the virus had its impact on the sales numbers. In addition, light commercial vehicle (LCV) sales also declined 18% at 3,867 units in February. The performance of ALL is broadly in line with other auto players in the industry.
