Let us go back to an exciting year for IPOs, which is year 2015. The year 2015 helped the IPO market raise nearly $2 billion through fresh offerings. Of course, we are not counting the few disinvestment deals in this list. What is more important is that this number is likely to increase to $5 billion in the year 2016. With a large pipeline of IPOs slated to hit the markets in 2016, including the mega $2 billion IPO of Vodafone, retail investors are going to be spoilt for choice. During the year 2015, most IPOs also gave extremely good post-listing performance. This includes IPOs like Narayana Hrudayalaya, Interglobe Aviation, S H Kelkar, Syngene, VRL Logistics etc. This has reinforced the faith of retail investors in the IPO market and it is likely to spur greater participation in IPOs in the year 2016.
