Unacademy, an education technology start-up, has acquired Chandigarh-based PrepLadder for $50 million in cash-cum-stock deal. This is Unacademy’s fourth acquisition in less than 2 years. Earlier it had acquired government exam preparation platform Wifistudy, competitive programming website CodeChef and GATE coaching site Kreatryx.

The 250-member team of PrepLadder will join the Unacademy Group including the founders. Unacademy is backed by Sequoia Capital and Facebook. This is more of an inorganic expansion for Unacademy. This is also a testament to the increasing demand for quality online education and will include courses for medical workers and nurses.
