It was an interesting week for the markets and represents the longest streak of weeks when the top heavyweights have added value consistently each week. Here are key highlights.

· If you look at the most valuable Nifty stocks, then 6 out of the top-10 most valuable companies on the Nifty added Rs.113,020 crore in market cap during the week.

· For the week ended 15-Jan, TCS continued to be the star value creator for the second week in succession adding Rs.42,496 crore taking its market cap to Rs.12,13,371 crore.

· Other big gainers for the week, included Bharti Airtel adding Rs.33,961 crore, HDFC Bank adding Rs.19,002 crore, Infosys adding Rs.14,184 crore and RIL adding Rs.2884 crore.

· Kotak Bank ended with maximum value depletion during the week giving up Rs.21,171 crore in terms of market capitalization.

· Among the other stocks to lost market value in the week, Bajaj Finance lost Rs.12,001 crore, Hindustan Unilever lost Rs.9,034 crore and HDFC lost Rs.3,864 crore.

· Despite RIL still being the most valuable stock in Nifty, HDFC Bank weight on Nifty has crossed that of RIL due to the significant free float effect of HDFC Bank.

· The first two weeks of Jan-21 saw Rs.18,490 crore of FPI flows into equity while they pulled out Rs.3,624 crore from debt. FPIs have been the big drivers of the big boys.
