Here are some of the key highlights that you need to know about the performance of the high value Nifty stocks during the week ending on October 01, 2020.

· After a difficult previous week, the latest week was one of overall gains for the Nifty. A majority of 8 out of the 10 most valuable companies on the Nifty Index in terms of market capitalization actually added Rs.145,200 crore in market value in the week.

· The value brigade was led by TCS and HDFC Bank which actually saw the highest accretion to market cap during the week gone by. In terms of market cap, TCS saw accretion of Rs.37,693 crore during the week while HDFC Bank was up Rs. 34,426 crore.

· The housing finance major, HDFC, also gained market value of Rs.25,092 during the week. Among the other gainers, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Hindustan Unilever and Infosys managed to add close to Rs.18,000 crore between them.

· Of course, there were 2 key value losers in the week. Bharti Airtel gave up market value of Rs.4010 crore while HCL Tech lost market cap of Rs.4003 crore during the week. It may be recollected that HCL had recently entered the top-10 list replacing ITC.

The good news in the week gone by was that the action returned to banking stocks with most banking celebrating a likely positive judgment from the SC on the EMI moratorium.
