To be frank, the ailing real estate market got a major boost from the RBI decision to allow banks to extend commencement of commercial operations of project loans by another year. This now stands extended till 2021 rather than 2020. This is expected to bring relief to the cash starved developers and ease the liquidity crunch at least in the short to medium term for these realty companies. Now developers can focus on completing projects and this will also ease the worries of banks about projects turning into non-performing assets. This move will bring the much-needed relief to the cash-starved realty sector especially the developers and the HFCs.
