It is hard to say but China has put its own Coronavirus vaccines on display. China was where the Coronavirus pandemic first started before spreading to the rest of the world. This was displayed at the Beijing Trade Fair by Chinese companies Sinovac Biotech and Sinopharm.

Both the vaccines are expected to be approved after the critical Phase-3 trials around the end of the year 2020. For starters, Sinovac has completed the construction of a vaccine factory with the capacity to produce 300 million doses a year.

The potential vaccines from China are among the 10 vaccine candidates to enter Phase-3 trials. This is normally the last step ahead of regulatory approval. Already Russian companies as well as US and European companies are on the job with a sense of urgency.

The other big issue is cost, as it needs to be affordable. China expects to keep the vaccine prices reasonable at around $146 for 2 doses, which is a very reasonable price to pay even for a country with a lower level of per capita income.

In addition, scientists at the Chinese military have also developed a special type of vaccine that has the potential to deal with mutations in the Coronavirus, which is something that is yet to be addressed. Global vaccine orders stand at close to 6 billion doses.
