Opening a PPF or Public Provident Fund (PPF) account in a post office is an easy task and can be completed in a few simple steps.
- First, you have to get an application form from the nearest post office.
- Then, you will have to fill up the form with all the correct details and submit it with the required documents and passport size photograph.
- You can open an account with a minimum of Rs. 500. The maximum amount you can open your PPF account with is Rs.70,000. However, this is not the maximum amount you can put in your account, for that is Rs.1,50,000.
- After you have submitted all your documents along with the initial deposit amount, you will be given a passbook for your PPF account. This passbook will contain all your account details such as your account name, your PPF account number, your PPF contributions, etc.
