After the accident, a policyholder has to file an insurance claim. The documents required for filing an insurance claim will be available with the investigating officers (police officers). 

The document needs include panchnama , charge sheet, and documents of the vehicle involved in the accident.

The compensation amount a policyholder will receive depends on factors such as age and income. If there has been an injury, then additional documents such as medical papers and employment or salary proof must be provided. If there is a fatality claim, then age and income proof of the victim/victims would be required.
