On Wednesday, I suggested to take profits off the table on Hindustan Zinc and Apollo Tyres. For Thursday, there is no specific stock level change that you need to make. Regarding the 3 stocks you asked about, I agree that they have been testing your patience but all have a solid story backing them so a little more patience is required. Here is the take.

Burger King at Rs.171 (CMP-149) – Suggest hold

HCL Tech at Rs.985 (CMP-964) – Suggest hold

Indraprastha Gas at Rs.568 (CMP-518) – Suggest hold

Let me now turn to your question on what to buy. Today, I am suggesting 3 stocks and all are for a time frame of around 6 months. So, if you are not looking at that kind of time frame, then these are best avoided now. Here are the 3 stocks you can look to buy today.

a) Buy Indiabulls Housing Finance at Rs.248 for upside targets of Rs.320 in the next five to six months. The stock is finally recovering from its asset quality problems of the last few years and is now poised to start growing its retail loan book. It has reduced its exposure to builder credit substantially.

b) Buy DLF at Rs.324 for targets of Rs.435 in 6 months as the company moves towards zero-debt; another stock to bet on the imminent build up in the realty space. The stock may be at a one-year high but it is likely to be a winner-take-it-all situation for DLF as it emerges as the largest real estate company in India by a margin.

c) There is a focused play in Tata Chemicals at Rs.773 for targets of Rs.910 in the next 5-6 months. Tata Chemicals is likely to emerge as one of India’s foremost plays on specialty and agrochemicals space. With a total focus on pure chemicals after hiving off its consumer salt business, further and sharper upsides are likely.
