Coal India reported net profit of Rs.4638 crore for the Mar-20 quarter, nearly 23% lower than the corresponding quarter last year. For the Mar-20 quarter, the revenues from operations stood at Rs.27,568 crore, which was mildly negative on a YOY basis. The EBITDA margins of the company fell by 440 bps to 24.40% in the fourth quarter.

Net profits for the full year fell by 4.3% to Rs.16,714 crore while revenues from operations fell marginally by 3.5% to Rs.96,080 crore. Production volumes in the fourth quarter were up by 10% at 213.7 million tonnes while off-take volume remained flat at 163.87 million tonnes. This was largely driven by cyclical demand in the fourth quarter.
