India’s R&D spend has definitely been lacking over the years. Last year, it was just 0.7% of the total GDP. However, COVID might be a push in the right direction that it needs. The government could partner with healthcare companies to encourage and propel research in the right direction. This is an opportune time to explore new partnerships and devise smarter solutions through collaborations between technology and pharmaceutical companies.

The expertise of designing & building laboratories, R&D, and manufacturing facilities coupled with technologies like BIM, VR, Project Management tools, and drone-based monitoring can enhance the efficiency of the research and optimize the facility costs with quick turnaround in design &quality.
