One of India’s top legal advisory and audit firms, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, has launched the second batch of its legal-tech start-up incubator. The firm specializes in corporate law cases for some of the biggest names in India including the Reliance bankrupt.

Now it is creating a start-up ecosystem wherein it will pick up around 5 start-ups and mentor them continuously over a 10 week period to enable and catalyze them to develop solutions that are aligned with the practical requirements of law firms and independent practitioners.

The firm will be look at start-ups to work on improving access to justice, making transactions more efficient, litigation competencies and enabling remote workforce operations. However, unlike most start-up incubator or accelerator programs, Cyril will not invest money upfront but the support will be more of intellectual capital

While the first round got a lot of applications from pre-product and idea-stage start-ups, this time around the firm will focus on getting more of mature start-ups with some product or idea in place and in workable model conditions.

Some of the good start-up ideas that Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas supported in the first round include, Leegality, which automates documentation needs such as e-signature and stamping. The other name LegalMind broke down legal judgements and provided analytics.

In addition, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, will also ensure post-program support for these identified start-ups. This would include finding investors, vendors, charting a growth path and managing customer needs.
