SEBI amended the disclosure norms pertaining to intimation of record date to stock exchanges. Record date is the date used as the cut off for corporate actions. Under the norms, listed companies will now intimate the record date for corporate actions like dividends, bonus share and rights issue to stock the exchanges.

A company will have to inform all the exchanges where it is listed as also exchanges were futures & options are available on its stock and even where the stock forms part of an index on which index F&O contracts are available. SEBI has also amended the Listing and Disclosure Requirements Regulations to give effect to this change.
