The best time to start investing is when you are young. So you are already on the right track. Before investing in anything, understand the basics. Investment doesn't always refer to the stock market. There are other forms of investments that are equally good. Mutual funds are beginner friendly. It is where a professional pools money from several investors and invests on their behalf. As it is managed by someone who has experience in the market, it is relatively safe and low risk. The investment can be as low as Rs.500.

If you do not want to invest a huge amount at once, Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) is a viable option. SIP directly invests for you on a monthly basis and deducts the set amount from your bank directly.
