Trading costs including brokerage and statutory costs are the costs that are explicitly mentioned in your contract so there is no confusion with respect to trading costs. There are other costs too which will be shown in your trading ledger provided by your broker. For example, when you buy and sell equities you also need a demat account. While demat accounts do not entail account opening costs, there is an annual maintenance charge (AMC) payable to the DP. Additionally, every debit transaction to your demat account will entail a charge. If you are funding your online trading account through a payment gateway then there are payment gateway charges that are debited to your account. At times brokers may also charge you interest if your account is not funded on time. All these costs will add up to your total trading costs. Eventually, all these costs are billed and you need to factor them in while calculating the break even in your trading performance.
